Arnold Louis from Savannah State has won StatSheet's MEAC Player of the Week for January 30th. Delaware State's Kendall Gray has won StatSheet MEAC Freshman of the Week. And last but not least, Savannah State's Arnold Louis has won StatSheet's MEAC 6th Man of the Week.
Louis topped the MEAC in rebounding (14.0 per game). He also tallied 14.5 points per game. The Savannah State senior played well for the Tigers in wins against Stetson and Howard.
Louis added 9 points and 14 rebounds in 23 minutes in a big 75-45 win against Stetson. He followed that up with 20 points and 14 rebounds in a huge 71-50 win against Howard.
This is the second time this season that Arnold Louis has been selected StatSheet MEAC Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is Brandon Riley, a senior from South Carolina State. Honorable mention goes to Savannah State junior Rashad Hassan. The highest ranking player from North Carolina A&T was Adrian Powell who finished 11th.
StatSheet MEAC Freshman of the Week: Delaware State's Kendall Gray
Kendall Gray averaged 24 minutes of playing time starting both games for Delaware State. In a 65-51 win over Florida A&M, Gray rang up 6 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Following that in a 76-70 win over North Carolina Central, he added 14 points on 80% shooting.
This marks the second time this season that Kendall Gray has won the StatSheet MEAC Freshman of the Week. Ricky Johnson from Bethune-Cookman grabs runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Ishaq Pitt from Maryland-Eastern Shore.
StatSheet MEAC 6th Man of the Week: Savannah State's Arnold Louis
Senior Arnold Louis, a 6-7 reserve forward, averaged 26 minutes of action over the two games for the Tigers. In the win over Stetson, Louis put up 9 points and 14 rebounds. During the win over Howard, he racked up 20 points and 14 rebounds.
This is the first StatSheet MEAC 6th Man of the Week win for Arnold Louis. Aric Brooks, a senior guard/forward from Morgan State, is the runner up. Anthony Breeze, a senior guard from Bethune-Cookman, receives honorable mention. North Carolina A&T has yet to win StatSheet MEAC Player of the Week.
